by Donda West with Karen Hunter

Kanye West is a hip-hop phenomenon. He first gained fame as a rap producer, working with such artists as Alicia Keys, Jay-Z and Janet Jackson. Once he grabbed the mike himself, he found even more success as a solo artist, winning six Grammy Awards, including Album and Record of the Year. But his strength has always come from his beloved mother, Donda, and here for the first time she tells her story about raising a rap star.

Published just in time for Mother's Day, Raising Kanye is the story of one woman's struggle as a single mother, rearing a son in the African-American community. Complete with never-before-seen photos, Donda West will share personal and private stories of her life with Kanye, and her later experiences as his manager as he rose to superstardom. Her story is truly an inspiration to women and fans alike.
